Florida Panthers Information

The Panthers were founded as an NHL expansion team in 1993. They compete in the Southeast division of the Eastern Conference. They did surprisingly well in their first year, missing the playoffs by just one point. Two years later they made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, only to be swept by the Colorado Avalanche. They have missed the playoffs every year since the 2000-01 season.

The Panthers wrapped up the 2009 season with a strong 41-30-11 record and 93 points; their second best ever in franchise history. Despite the successful run, the Panthers missed the playoffs for an eighth straight season, which marks the current longest streak in the NHL. The following year, the Panthers had a dismal season only winning 30 games. They were left out of the playoffs for the ninth straight year, but this season are the division leader so far and are already close to reaching their total wins from last season.

Look for them to continue their strong play and break their playoff drought to make a run at the Stanley Cup.
