The Emerald Bowl is a division 1 NCAA certified post-season contest that has been played annually since 2002. AT&T Park in San Francisco, California is the bowl’s official playing field. The stadium seats approximately 40,800 people. Last year California outplayed Miami and took the title rights after winning 24-17. In its history no team has made more than one appearance at the Bowl game. The contest usually features teams from the ACC and Pac-10. From 2010 on organizers have decided to give teams from other conferences a shot. In two years the bowl will host the Pac-10's sixth-place team with the WAC's first, second, or third place team. In 2011 Army will play against the Pac-10’s representative, followed by Navy in 2012.
