Elliott Yamin Information

Elliott was the third place finalist on the fifth season of the TV show American Idol. He was born in Los Angeles and moved to Richmond, Virginia when he was 11 years old. He was never musically trained but loved to sing karaoke and sang in a local jazz band. He is 90% deaf in his right ear, which makes his accomplishments even more impressive.

Elliott auditioned for American Idol from Boston, Massachusetts and moved through each round with ease. He received many compliments from the judges and guest judges, including Stevie Wonder.

Since leaving American Idol he has performed the National Anthem multiple times at different sporting events, appeared on many talk shows and had a solo concet with the band Little Memphis Blues Orchestra.

In early 2007 he signed a record deal with Hickory Records and his first radio single “Wait For You” was released in March of 2007. His first self-titled album debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart which is the highest-ever debut for an independent artist.

Yamin sang “Wait For You” on the American Idol Season 6 top 3 results show that caused the single to jump from 80 to 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 within hours. By October the album was certified gold status.

Yamin is currently touring, with pop/R&B singer Josh Hoge opening for him. Don’t miss this very talented young man that promises to be the beginning of a long and successful musical career.
