Information

Denver Nuggets information, Originally the Denver Rockets of the ABA they joined the NBA as the Nuggets in 1976. They have no NBA Championships and one ABA Championship. They hoped to change that after trading Joe Smith and Andre Miller for Ivan McFarlin and veteran superstar Allen Iverson. With the Melo/Iverson combination the Nuggets were able to make the playoffs but struggled to advance to the later rounds.

In November of 2008 Denver traded away Iverson to the Detroit Pistons for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and Cheikh Samb. The deal served as very successful, as they ended the 2009 season with a 54-28 record. They advanced to the Western Conference finals, losing to the world champion Los Angeles Lakers in 6 games. Next season the Nuggets should come back as one of the top teams in the West. They recently traded a 2nd round draft pick to the Detroit Pistons for Arron Afflalo and Walter Sharpe. Afflalo will take over at one of the starting guard positions, replacing Dahntay Jones who signed with the Indiana Pacers.
