Denver Broncos Information

The Denver Broncos are members of the West Division of the AFC. They were founded in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League but joined the NFL during the merger of 1970. The team plays at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado. They have been a fairly successful franchise since their inception. The Broncos have won two Super Bowls, one in 1997 and the other in 1998. They also hold six AFC Championships. The Broncos lead the league with only six losing seasons since 1977, have won eleven Division Championships in the AFC West and have had a total of eighteen playoff appearances.

Last year the 2011 Denver Broncos played their 42nd season in the NFL and their first season under head coach John Fox. The team doubled their win total from 2010 with a record of 8-8. They had finished in a three-way tie with the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders for the AFC West division title but based on tiebreakers, clinched their first division title since 2005 and went on to the playoffs. The Broncos beat the Pittsburg Steelers in the Wild card Round but then were quickly defeated by the New England Patriots in the Divisional round, ending their playoff run. This season they hope to make it further into the playoffs. Important players on the team this year quarterback Peyton Manning, defensive end Elvis Dumervil, cornerback Champ Bailey, guard Chris Kuper and linebacker Von Miller.
