English singer/songwriter David Gray first became popular with the release of his 1999 album White Ladder. Featuring the songs "This Year’s Love," "Babylon," and "Sail Away," White Ladder went on to become the biggest selling record in Ireland. For 151 consecutive weeks there was at least one single from that album on the UK Charts. His 2005 album Life in Slow Motion peaked at #1 in the UK, #8 in Australia, and #1 in the United States.
David Gray’s latest album, Draw the Line, was released in the UK and US September of 2009. Following this release, Gray played a pool-side concert at the Rooftop Pool at The Colonnade Hotel in Boston, performing several tracks from his new album. Gray is rereleasing this album next week, to be preceded by the digital release of “A Moment” on May 30, 2010. A bonus CD including tracks recorded live at The Roundhouse, London will form part of the two disc re-issue. The bonus CD will also feature three tracks which have never been released in the UK before, as well as B-sides “Jitterbug” and “Second Halo”.
Gray revealed to Hot Press that there is already a follow-up album in the works, tentatively titled Foundling, to be released September 2010. He’s currently touring alongside folk singer Ray LaMontagne playing Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion August 17th and 18th.
