Dallas Mavericks information, The Dallas Mavericks joined the NBA in 1980. They play in the Southwest Division of the Western Conference. They are owned by the colorful and outspoken Mark Cuban. Despite having some really strong teams in the last few years the Mavericks have yet to win an NBA title. They did advance to the NBA Finals in 2005-06 only to lose to the Heat in six games. They are currently one of the best teams in the NBA and have qualified for the 2007 playoffs.
