The Rams of Colorado State University field 16 varsity athletic teams that compete in the NCAA Division 1 Mountain West Conference. The school is most recognized for their football, volleyball and basketball programs. The football team since starting up in 1968 has won five post-season Bowl games and 15 conference titles. Rams volleyball claimed MWC title champs in six of their last eight years in competition. Men's basketball has earned five NCAA tournament appearances (their last in 2002).
