Colorado Avalanche Information

The Colorado Avalanche have won eight division titles and two Stanley Cups since the team moved from Quebec in 1995. After 2005, the Avalanche have reached the playoffs two out of four times. In 2006 and 2008, they advanced to the Conference Semifinals, but were swept on both occasions.

At the end of the 2008-09 season, they hit their low point, finishing at 5th place in the Northwest Division. The next season, they came back strong and made it back into the postseason. They were eliminated in the first round by the San Jose Sharks, but in the 2010-11 season, they missed out on the playoffs entirely with a poor season where they placed fourth in their division. The 2011-12 season was much the same. The Avalanche finished third in their division with a win-loss record of 41-35 and again did not make it to the playoffs.
