THERE ARE CURRENTLY NO COLORADO AVALANCHE EVENTS.
Colorado Avalanche information, The roster of the Colorado Avalanche has a very different look these days now that some of their elite players have moved on. Some of these players include Peter Forsberg, Adam Foote, Rob Blake, Alex Tanguay, and Dan Hinote. All of these players were key elements in the team's eight division titles and two Stanley Cups since the Avalanche moved from Quebec in 1995. With losses like these it would be easy for any fan to assume that the Avalanche are sinking fast. But things aren't as bad as they seem in Colorado. The Avalanche house a solid and underrated defense unit. To help cope with the loss of Blake, GM FranÁois GiguËre acquired defenseman Jordon Leopold from the division rival Calgary Flames. Leopold will bring his solid defensive skills along with an offensive touch. John-Micheal Liles returns to the team's defense as well as underrated players such as Karlis Skrastins and Brett Clark. Rouding out the top six on this unit are veterans Patrice Brisebois and Ken Klee (free agent signing). Anchoring the defense will former Vezina and Hart trophy winning goaltender Jose Theodore. A lackluster season last year will see Theodore looking to improve back to his MVP form. The offense will see the return of stars such as the always consistent Joe Sakic, underrated winger Andrew Brunette, and goal scoring threat Milan Hejduk. Supporting this top line will be super rookies Marek Svatos and Wojtek Wolski. Svatos netted 32 goals last year while Wolski attributed six points in nine games for the Avalanche. The Avalanche, who play their home games in the Pepsi Center, will make some noise this season as they present a deep defense, two good scoring lines, and a good checking unit.
