The Colonial Theatre is the oldest theatre in Boston. Opened in 1900, the Colonial Theatre was the catalyst for a theatre building boom in Boston in the early 1900's. It's opening was followed by the opening of the Majestic, the Shubert and the Wilbur Theatres in Boston. The Colonial Theatre itself, has not changed much since 1900. The Colonial Theatre did undergo a major restoration project in 1995. The Colonial is often home to some of Broadway's best touring shows. Most recently the Broadway Hit, Spamalot made a limited run at the Colonial Theatre. Up next for the Colonial is the new Musical, High Fidelity based on the popular novel by Nick Hornby.
Boston’s historic Colonial Theatre will be hosting a multitude of exciting events in the coming months.
