Information

Cleveland Cavaliers information, The Cleveland Cavaliers were founded in 1970. They play in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference. Although they have no NBA Championships in their history their future is looking up as long as LeBron James remains a Cav. Behind a strong effort by LeBron the Cavaliers advanced to the playoffs in the 2005-06 season for the first time since the 1997-98 season.

The 2007 Cavaliers finished with a 50-32 record, earning the second seed in the East for the playoffs. LeBron James managed to advance the team past the Wizards and Nets the first two rounds, and carried the squad on his back to beat the Pistons in six games. In game five LeBron produced a historic display as he scored the Cavaliers last 25 points for them to win barely 109-107. Cleveland then ran out of steam heading into the finals and were swept by the power house San Antonio Spurs. In 2008 the Cavs made their third consecutive playoff run, but lost to the Boston Celtics in a hard fought 7 game series.

Last Season LeBron and the Cavs completed the regular season with an incredible 66-16 record. They finished first in the Eastern Conference and James earned well deserved MVP rights. Although they seemed unstoppable after sweeping their first two opponents in the playoffs, they were beat by the Orlando Magic in six games. The Cavaliers didn't waste any time making moves after their '09 playoff campaign. They signed veteran All-Star center Shaquille O'Neal, who has previously won championships with the LA Lakers and the Miami Heat. There is no doubt that the Cavs will be back in the playoff race again next year. Between Cleveland, Boston, and Orlando, the East should supply some very exciting basketball to watch this season.
