She appeared on Star Search in 1988 and won second place and in 1992 joined the cast of the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club where her voice mesmerized the crowd. But only in her early 20s, this blonde-haired, blue-eyed beauty may have gotten more than she bargained for.
The first album Christina Aguilera has received praise from both critics and fans alike, for its diversity in musical style, ranging from dance, pop and gospel, to soul and R&B. Having been compared to veteran divas Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Etta James. And her hit single "Genie in a bottle" got this new upcoming star her first Grammy.
In 2003, she released Stripped, featuring such hit songs as "Dirrty," "Beautiful" and "Can't Hold Us Down." The album made Christina the number-one Billboard Female Artist of the year. This album gave the world a new image of Christina as she quotes "The real me".
Aguilera's third English studio album Back to Basics, was released on August.15, 2006, which went to #1 in 13 countries. Lead single "Ain't No Other Man" was a substantial success, reaching #6 in the U.S. and the top five in the UK. Aguilera described the double-CD as "a throwback to the 20s, 30s, and 40s-style jazz, blues, and feel-good soul music, but with a modern twist" which makes us think of what is she going to come up next!
