Information

Calgary Flames information, The Flames entered the NHL in 1972. They play in the Northwest division of the Western Conference. In their franchise history the Flames have won three Conference Championships, and won their first and only Stanley Cup in the 1988-89 season.

Since the 2004-2005 NHL Lockout, Calgary has produced winning seasons but has failed to make it past the Conference Quarterfinals. In May of 2009 head coach Mike Keenan was fired and Bret Sutter was named to replace him just one month later. Sutter joins the team after two seasons as the head coach of the New Jersey Devils with an overall record of 97-56-11. With a new coach in place, the Flames might just be able to produce more in the playoffs when games really matter. They have all the tools to compete in the post-season and are really looking to prove they belong there in 2010.
