Information

Buffalo Sabres information, The Sabres were founded in 1970 as an expansion team in Buffalo, NY. They have no Stanley Cups but have won their Conference three times. The Sabres currently play in the Northeast Division of the Eastern Conference.

In the 2006 and 2007 seasons, franchise player Chris Drury led the Sabres to reach the Eastern Conference finals. Both times they fell short of reaching the Stanley Cup, losing to the Hurricanes in 2006 and to the Senators in 2007. After the '07 campaign Drury was lost to free agency and signed with the New York Rangers. Without him the 2008 Sabres finished 4th in the Northeast division and did not qualify for the playoffs.

The 2009 Sabres finished with a 41 wins but it wasn't enough for them to make it into post-season play. To make improvements for 2010 the Sabres agreed to terms with Andrej Sekera on a multi-year deal, and also signed Clarke MacArthur to a one-year contract. They later picked up Mike Grier, Steve Montador, and Joe DiPenta. With more depth added to their roster the Sabres will be able to rack up a few more wins and could possibly make a run at the playoffs.
