Information

The Boston Beanpot is an annual college hockey tournament held amongst the four major college hockey schools in Boston: Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, and Northeastern. The tournament began in the 1952-53 season. The event takes place on the first two Monday nights in February. There are two games in the first round, followed by the winners moving on to the finals while the losers play for third place.

In 2009 the BU Terriers beat out Harvard 4-3, claiming their 29th Beanpot title. Boston College has the second most championships with 13. Harvard and Northeastern have earned rights to be called Beanpot champs ten and four times.
