The Boston Beanpot is an annual college hockey tournament held amongst the four major college hockey schools in Boston: Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, and Northeastern.
The Beanpot Tournament began in the 1952-53 season. The event takes place on the first two Monday nights in February. There are two games in the first round. The winners go on the finals while the losers play for 3rd place.
In the history of the Beanpot Tournament, Boston University has dominated the event, winning the championship 28 times. Boston College has won 13 times, Harvard 10 times and Northeastern 4 times.
