Ever since their first tour in 1994, Dave Mathews Band has been selling out shows across the country year after year. Their live sound draws large crowds to huge venues and along the way, the band has even recorded a few live albums during their tour stops. The 2008 Dave Mathews Band tour looks to be another great show to add to your calendar, and to accommodate fan requests, the band is even adding a few new stops where they will be playing shows at as well.

One of the treats about this tour is going to be the band debuting songs from their newest album which has yet to be released. They are currently recording the tracks in the studio working with some artists including Green Day, My Chemical Romance and Alanis Morrissette. Former guitarist and good friend of the band Tim Reynolds will be playing on the album as well, making his first recording with DMB since the album “Before the Crowded Streets” was released in 1998.

There are 54 shows scheduled during the summer tour, and DMB will be making stops in 40 different cities. The tour kicks off on May 30 at the Post-Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA and wraps up with three shows at UC Berkeley in Berkeley, CA on Sept. 5, 6 and 7. Some of the cities along the way where DBM will rock out include Hartford, CT, Mansfield, MA and George, WA.

Jimmy Buffett has to be one of the most consistent touring acts around these days. With no signs of slowing down, Buffett will be on the road all summer long in 2008. A number of shows are already onsale for Jimmy Buffett and his Coral Reefer Band. One of the highlights of the tour will be Buffett’s return to the Tweeter Center in Mansfield, MA. Buffett will play two shows at the venue on 9/4 and 9/6. Many fans were disappointed when Buffett moved his New England show to Gillette Stadium last year. No worries now that the shows are back at the Tweeter Center.

Rap superstar Kanye West will be on the road in the Spring of 2008. Kanye’s 2008 Glow in the Dark Tour will kick off on 4/16 in Seattle. The 2007 Police Reunion tour was such a success that the band has decided they want more. The Police, who sold out dozens of shows just last year, are returning to play areas they might have missed in ‘07. The 2007 Police tour was Billboard’s top selling tour of the year selling over 2.5 million Police Tickets.  This year’s tour should is expected to be just as popular. Joining The Police throughout the tour will be Elvis Costello and the Imposters.

The Police have announced that these shows will be their last in each city. Don’t miss your chance to see the reunited Police. It may not happen again.

The Police just announced on May 7, 2008 that they will play their last show ever in New York City sometime in August of 2008. The concert proceeds will benefit MillionTreesNYC, an initiative to plant 1 million trees in NYC by 2017. The concert will bring the Police full circle. They kicked off their 1st American tour in 1978 at CBGB’s in New York.

Due to overwhelming demand in New England, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have added a show at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield on June 14, 2008. This show will follow their first New England show at Boston’s TD Banknorth Garden on June 13. Tickets for the first Tom Petty show sold extremely well prompting promoters to seek out another date in the area.  With a Tweeter Center show added, fans now have a choice of an outdoor pavilion Tom Petty show or a closed arena show.

Don’t worry this winter weather will be over soon. When the Spring and Summer finally come around, they’ll be some great music to enjoy at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield. Already scheduled to play are Rush, REM, and Tim McGraw. Concert dates are also in the works for Rod Stewart, Radiohead, Dave Matthews, and Jack Johnson. Rumors are also swirling about the possibility of another Police concert, this time at the Tweeter Center.

Rush, the popular progressive rock band from Canada announced their plans to tour in 2008. The ‘Snakes and Arrows’ tour is rumored to be an extensive one.
