One of the biggest stars to ever hit country music, Tim McGraw, is performing this coming Saturday at the Comcast Center in Mansfield, MA. Touring with the more recent country phenomenon Lady Antebellum, McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, kicked off a six-month North American tour in February in promotion of his 12th studio album, Southern Voice, released in October 2009. The album focuses on his small town upbringings, while also featuring light-hearted summertime anthems such as the single “It’s a Business Doing Pleasure with You”.
The tour has been underway since February 11th where it began in Omaha, NE and will wrap up at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, August 15th. McGraw recently performed at this year’s CMT Music Awards in Nashville alongside a star-studded cast including Zac Brown Band, Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum and host Kid Rock. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill also held a charity concert in June called Nashville Rising to benefit flood recovery throughout Tennessee.
With a touring history that goes back over 22 years, McGraw’s last collaborative tour took place in 2006 with wife Faith Hill. The 73-concert, 55-city Soul2Soul II tour sold 1.1 million tickets, becoming the top grossing tour in country music history. His tours are known for being energetic and fast-paced, with McGraw steamrolling through his career in an hour and a half’s span. McGraw has won a total of 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and three Grammys throughout his career while also taking on several acting roles including last year’s The Blind Side and a lead role in 1996’s Flicka. Tickets for Tim McGraw live in concert are now available!
