The Weeknd will be coming to the House of Blues for two nights on Monday and Tuesday. The Canadian R&B singer Abel Tesfaye has been on tour for a month now, hitting the road with Florence + The Machine. His show this week will include songs off of his mixtape albums House of Baloons, Echoes Of Silence and Thursday. Tesfaye will bring his nocturnal like beats to the House of Blues in an effort to place you in the underground nightlife scene of lust, over-indulgence and broken hearts. (more)

Back in 2009 a small indie rock band from London called The xx, released a self-titled album that literally blew up overnight, receiving overwhelming critical praise. Now, having just released their second album Coexist, the band prepares to hit the road once again. (more)

This Week In Boston (July 30th – August 5th)

The Boston Red Sox are back in town! Starting off with a three game series against the Detroit Tigers going from July 30-August 1. Then they finish out the week with a four game series against the Minnesota Twins from August 2-5. Coming straight from a three game series against long time rivals the New York Yankees, let’s hope the Sox bring back a couple wins as souvenirs. (more)
