Lewis Caught Violating NBA Drug Policy

Posted by Ace Staff on August 7th, 2009

Orlando Magic forward Rashard Lewis has recently tested positive for an elevated testosterone level and will be required to serve a ten game suspension.  Lewis is the sixth player to test positive for performance-enhancing drugs since the NBA began testing ten years ago.  The reported drug found in his system was DHEA, which is considered a definite precursor to steroids.  Lewis did not think he was taking any type of illegal substance, and clarified that what he took was all purchased over the counter.  The suspension will cost him $1.6 million of his $18 million earnings this season.  Lewis has already decided to speak out on the subject.  “First and foremost I take full responsibility for the situation and accept the corresponding penalty,” said Lewis. “I apologize to Magic fans, my teammates and this organization for not doing the research that should come with good judgment.”  Lewis will definitely be back in action when the Magic take on the Boston Celtics at the TD Banknorth Garden Friday, November 20th. Tickets for the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics are available here at!

Abdul was not able to compromise with Fox producers, saying “I hope you can understand I can only return to Idol if the deal is fair.”  Paula will certainly be missed, but the show must go on.  Don’t miss the chance to see your favorite American Idols perform at the TD Banknorth Garden on Tuesday, August 18th.  “American Idols Live” will feature fan favorites Kris Allen and Adam Lambert along with the talented Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds, and Allison Iraheta. Garnett Undergoes Knee Surgery

Posted by Ace Staff on May 26th, 2009

The Boston Celtics were not able to make it in the playoffs without Kevin Garnett. The veteran big man was out for most of the second half of the season, and all of the postseason. Garnett underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from the affected knee, which team doctors are saying was a success. The Big Ticket is expected to start the 2009-2010 Celtics season on time, and should be at 100%. “I expect Kevin to return to active duty in full force and be that consummate two-way professional that he has shown all of us throughout his fantastic NBA career,” Doc Rivers told the AP in a press conference. Boston Celtics tickets will be posted as soon as they are available!

Bruins and Celtics Done in 7

Posted by Ace Staff on May 18th, 2009

Both the Boston Bruins and the Boston Celtics had their seasons end with game 7′s at home this week. The Bruins lost an overtime thriller to the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday night. Scott Walker hit the game winner to earn the former New England franchise (the Hurricanes were previously the Hartford Whalers) a date with Sidney Crosby’s Pittsburgh Penguins in the conference championships. The Orlando Magic sent the Celtics packing on Sunday, led by a dominating performance by center Dwight Howard. Paul Pierce was 4-13 from the floor, and only managed to knock down one three in a 101-82 loss. The absence of Kevin Garnett and Leon Powe left the Celtics in a difficult position throughout the playoffs. Though the action at the Garden is done, baseball weather is in full effect at Fenway park! In addition, the Patriots will be starting mini-camps and practices in the coming months.

Bruins Force Game 7 In Boston

If the Bruins knew exactly what they were up against last night, they sure didn’t play like it, as they handled the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 in front of a sold out RBC Arena. Following last nights game this Boston Bruins team became only the second team in their storied history to force a Game 7 after trailing 3 games to 1.The Bruins came out flying with Mark Recchi netting his 50th career playoff goal barely 2 minutes into the game to give them an early lead they never relinquished. Steve Montador, Marc Savard, and Chuck Kobasew added goals and Thomas turned away 31 of the 33 shots he faced to even up the series and force a decisive Game 7 in Boston. Bruins Game 7 tickets are now available.
