Patriots Pummel Winless Titans

Posted by Ace Staff on October 19th, 2009

With a Buffalo Bills win over the New York Jets yesterday, the Patriots now stand alone on top of the AFC East Division with a 4-2 record.  Their last victory came on a snowy afternoon in Foxboro against the Tennessee Titans. There were two unexpected occurrences Sunday at Gillette Stadium. For one it looked like January in October.  Secondly, the Patriots won by a total of 59 points. Tom Brady made history on week six of 2009 regular season play, throwing for six touchdown passes (five in the second quarter alone) and 380 yards from his 29 completions. “Every week we’re learning something more about ourselves and what we can do,” said Brady. “There’s no doubt a game like this can give you a lot of confidence.” Brady wasn’t the only one with a break through game with Wes Welker and Randy Moss combining for five touchdown receptions. RB Laurence Maroney finally proved himself a threat with 123 yards and a TD from his 16 game carries.  The Titans will have a lot to work on during their bye week before they match up with the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 1st. “I’m disappointed and embarrassed,” said Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher. “Fortunately for me, career-wise, I have never been through anything like this before and, unfortunately, it happened tonight. I can assure you one thing, it’s not going to happen again.” The Pats are now scheduled to journey over to Wembley Stadium in London to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, October 25th.  New England Patriots tickets are available now!

Giants Keep Bucs at Zero

Posted by Ace Staff on September 28th, 2009

QB Eli Manning and the New York Giants posted 24 points en route to dominating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the defense held their score and wins at zero. The Giants established a solid running game between Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs, who combined for 196 yards from 40 carries. Manning ended the game with two touchdown passes from his 161 earned yards. Giants head coach Tom Coughlin was glad to see his RB’s take control after last week’s quiet ground game.  “We had a game in which we didn’t play very well against the run, so we knew that we would be tested and we would have to rise up and do a better job there,” said Coughlin. “We also knew we needed to rush the ball better than we had, so we did a pretty good job with that.” Tampa Bay first year coach Raheem Morris called his teams performance “completely disastrous.”  He had every right to make that statement knowing the Bucs offense created just five first downs (fewest in their franchise history). New York is now set to square off against the Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday at 1:00 pm.  The Buccaneers will look forward to their next game on Sunday as well against the Washington Redskins, who just came off a disappointing loss to the Detroit Lions. Patriots Face Bucs in UK During 2009 Season

Posted by Ace Staff on December 1st, 2008

The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will become the third pair of NFL teams to match up at London’s Wembley Stadium. Last season the New York Giants beat the Miami Dolphins, and just over a month ago the New Orleans Saints beat the San Diego Chargers. Like the two previous across-the-pond games, the 2009 meeting is expected to sell out the full 83,000 seats in the house. This game is highly anticipated, as the Pats and Bucs are responsible for 4 of the last 7 NFL Championships. New England Patriots tickets are available now!
