Oden Has Breakout Game vs Bucks

Posted by Ace Staff on January 20th, 2009

Portland “rookie” Greg Oden is finally starting to have the kind of games the Trailblazers drafted him for. Oden’s 24 point, 15 rebound, 2 steal, and 2 block outing helped the Blazers shred the Milwaukee Bucks. It was Oden’s 12th double-double on the season, team best for the season. Portland’s 102-85 win puts them at 25-16 on the season, putting them just 1.5 games behind Denver in the Northwest division. Despite the Darius Miles salary cap drama, the Trail Blazers have been playing solid .500 ball since the holiday break, and will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night. Blazers in Trouble if Miles Signs

Posted by Ace Staff on January 9th, 2009

The Portland Trail Blazers will be in trouble if Darius Miles plays two more games this season. Drafted by the Blazers in 2000, Miles underwent microfracture surgery in 2006 and had his salary taken off the books under a classification of “career ending injury”. After 6 preseason games with Boston, and two regular season games with the Grizzlies, Miles is just two games away from going back on the books for Portland. If his salary is reinstated, the Trailblazers will not only go over the salary cap, but they will also have less money at their disposal for signing new free agents next year. While the Blazers have e-mailed GM’s asking for them to not play Miles, all teams stand to earn $250,000 in revenue sharing if Portland goes over the cap (versus the $28,000 it would cost to play Miles for two games). Portland Extends Winning Streak to Four

Posted by Ace Staff on December 1st, 2008

The Portland Trail Blazers topped the Pistons in Auburn Hills on Sunday in what is becoming a regular sight for Detroit fans. Both the Pistons and the Lions have yet to win a game on a Sunday this season. LaMarcus Aldridge led the rout with 27 points, followed by 19 from Brandon Roy, and 10 points and a career high 13 rebounds by Greg Oden. “This is a good win for us, because we’ve struggled against good teams on the road this year,” Roy said in a post-game interview. “We had good focus, and we were able to close the game.” Allen Iverson continues to struggle in Detroit, describing his tenure with the team so far as “almost (been) like a training camp” Portland Trail Blazers tickets are available now for all games this season.

Portland Beats Orlando for First Road Win

Posted by Ace Staff on November 11th, 2008

The Portland Trailblazers have had a tough start to their season. Of the seven games they have played so far, six of them were against teams that won at least 52 games least year; three of which the Trailblazers won. Portland ended the Orlando Magic’s four-game winning streak, and highlighted the Magic’s recent troubles with scoring off the bench. Outside of their top six men, no one on the Magic is averaging more than four points a game. Despite 35 points from Hedo Turkoglu and 29 from Dwight Howard, the team only managed to get double digit points from two other players. The Trailblazers (still without last year’s #1 pick Greg Oden) benefited from 40 points off their bench, versus the Magic’s twelve. Portland finished strong and held on to secure their first road win of the season. Portland Trailblazers Tickets and Orlando Magic Tickets are available now!
