Alternative rock band Wilco is set to play the Orpheum Theatre in Boston MA on Tuesday, April 6th, 2010. The Chicago natives scheduled concert dates in cities that include Philadelphia, Portland, Calgary, Atlanta, Hartford and Concord. The group will definitely be sure to showcase new material from their 2009 seventh studio album “Wilco (The Album).” Now comprised of Jeff Tweedy, John Stirratt, Nels Cline, Glenn Kotche, Pat Sansone and Mikael Jorgensen, Tweedy (lead singer and guitarist) and Stirratt (bassist) are the only two to stay with the group through its entirety. Wilco started up in 1994 by the remaining members of country group Uncle Tupelo after lead singer Jay Farrar moved on to pursue other projects. Their most successful album to date is “Yankee Hotel Foxtrot,” featuring the single “War on War.” The album following its release in 2002 went on to sell 590,000+ copies, earning a Gold certification by the Record Industry Association of America.
