Pop groups New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys just recently revealed the initial five concert dates as part of their collaborative summer tour in 2011. The run will begin at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Thursday, June 9th. (more)
On December 20, 2009 Boston’s own New Kids on the Block will be playing a show at the Boston House of Blues with all net ticket proceeds benefitting Toys for Tots. Pop group New Kids on the Block is scheduled to headline a one night only event at the House of Blues in Boston Sunday, December 20th at 7:00 PM. The guys don’t have any immediate tour plans for now but are definitely excited about giving hometown fans a great show.
NKOTB first arrived to the music scene in 1985 with the release of their debut self-titled album. From the late 1980′s and into the 90′s they sold over 70 million albums worldwide. Over the past week there have been multiple sources reporting that the early 90’s boy band, New Kids on The Block will be reuniting for one final tour. People Magazine came out with the initial reports, and a source told People that the group will be making the official announcement sometime over the next two weeks.
The boy band, made up of Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, Jordan Knight, Danny Wood, and Jonathan Knight were a phenomenon worldwide in the early 1990’s. The group sold more than 50 million albums around the world before calling it quits in 1994.
Group members have declined to comment about whether or not the group is in fact reuniting, but the group’s official website, www.nkotb.com, is up and running again after a long hiatus.
On Friday, April 4, 2008 the New Kids will be appearing on the Today show. This could be the big announcement NKOTB fans have been waiting for.
New Kids Update 4/4/08: The news is official. The News Kids on the Block will be back in action with a new album and tour. The band is slated to make their concert debut at the 2008 Kiss Concert at the Tweeter Center on May 18, 2008.
