Patriots, Saints Begin Joint Practices Today

The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints will hold their first joint practice today at 1:30 p.m. in anticipation of their preseason game this Thursday at Gillette Stadium. Organized by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Saints interim coach Joe Vitt, this marks the second time in three years the two teams have held practices together. (more)

The New England Patriots will have their first official test this Thursday when they battle the New Orleans Saints at Gillette Stadium. The game follows a pair of joint practices between the two teams set up by Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and Saints interim coach Joe Vitt. Patriots Begin Training Camp Sessions

The New England Patriots will open up training camp today at Gillette Stadium. The team’s practice is set for 1:30 this afternoon and will be open to the public. With 89 players on the current roster, the Patriots are required to reduce their number of players to 75 by August 27th and 53 by August 31st. (more)

The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints will hold a pair of joint practice sessions the week of their August 9th preseason matchup at Gillette Stadium. The plans have been discussed for quite some time between Patriots coach Bill Belichick and Saints interim coach Joe Vitt, as it would be the second time in three years the two teams have practiced together. Wes Welker Signs Patriots Franchise Tender

Patriots veteran wide-out Wes Welker will be joining his team at mandatory minicamp next month, as he recently signed his franchise tender worth $9.5 million in hopes to begin long-term contract negotiations. “I signed my tender today.
