Hawks center Al Horford came up big in his first start in over three months, contributing 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead Atlanta past the Boston Celtics 87-86 last night at Philips Arena. Horford’s presence was crucial down the stretch, as he hit the Hawks’ final two baskets and held off Celtics PG Rajon Rondo in the closing seconds to send the series back to Boston for Game 6. Paul Pierce was on the court for 44 minutes and racked up 36 points and 14 rebounds during Boston’s 87-80 Game 2 victory over the Atlanta Hawks last night at Philips Arena. The Chicago Bulls defeated the New York Knicks 98-86 in last night’s contest at United Center. On a night when the Bulls had PG Derrick Rose out with a sore ankle, the rest of the team stepped up. Chicago’s SG Richard Hamilton and SF Luol Deng led the team with 20 and 19 points. (more)

David Stern Hopes to Raise NBA’s Age Limit
