Celtics Add Jay Larranaga to Coaching Staff

The Boston Celtics have reportedly just hired Jay Larranaga as an assistant coach. The former head coach of the NBA Developmental League’s Erie Bayhawks led the team to a 60-40 record over the past two seasons. He is the son of University of Miami basketball head coach Jim Larranaga. (more)

Celtics Officially Sign Jason Terry

The Boston Celtics recently inked 13-year veteran guard Jason Terry to a three-year, $15 million contract utilizing the midlevel exception. Terry agreed to sign with the Celtics earlier this offseason, long before Ray Allen made his decision to join the Miami Heat. With the loss of Allen and Avery Bradley’s uncertain status after two shoulder surgeries, the C’s will call on Terry to play a significant role at the start of the regular season. (more)

Durant Scores 24 in USA Win Over DR

Brandon Bass Re-Signs With C’s

The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with Brandon Bass on Thursday, signing the seven-year power forward to a three year deal worth $20 million. The Celtics also secured Kevin Garnett for an additional three years last week. Celtics, Draft Picks Negotiate Contracts

The Boston Celtics have reached agreement with first-round picks Jared Sullinger and Fab Melo and second-round pick Kris Joseph just one day after introducing the rookies. The Boston Celtics selected Ohio State forward Jared Sullinger and Syracuse center Fab Melo with the 21st and 22nd overall picks in the NBA draft on Thursday night. Sullinger would have been a lottery pick had he entered the draft in 2011. He averaged 17.5 points and 9.2 rebounds last season while battling back problems to help the Buckeyes advance to the Final Four. (more)

Celtics’ Avery Bradley Shut Down for Playoffs

Celtics second-year shooting guard Avery Bradley will miss the remainder of the postseason due to an ongoing shoulder injury. He is scheduled to undergo surgery today after fighting through several shoulder dislocations over the past few weeks. The 21-year old was a great defensive presence for the Celtics all season long, who will have to march on without him Saturday night in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden. (more)
