Celtics Continue To Wreak Havoc

Posted by Ace Staff on December 12th, 2008

The 21-2 Boston Celtics cruised to their 13th straight victory last night, showing the Washington Wizards no mercy.  The final score was 122-88 as the Celtics seemed to score at will.  Paul Pierce and Ray Allen dropped 22 points apiece and Kevin Garnett came within three assists of a triple double.  The Celtics are now officially off to the best start in team history and have their longest win streak since the ’85-’86 season. The Celtics will return home to host the New Orleans Hornets tonight. They also host the Utah Jazz on Monday 12/15 at the TD Banknorth Garden.  Celtics tickets are available for these and all games.

Celtics Win Their 12th Straight

Posted by Ace Staff on December 8th, 2008

The Indiana Pacers continue to give the Boston Celtics trouble.  The Celtics needed overtime to avoid their 2nd loss of the year to Indiana, one of only two teams to beat Boston this year.  The Celtics relied on Ray Allen’s 35 points to take the 122-117 win at the Canseco Fieldhouse.  The win was the 12th in a row for Boston putting them at 20-2 on the year.  Ray Allen’s season high 35 points were just what the Celtics needed.  Allen had 12 3 pointers as well.  Kevin Garnett also had a huge game for Boston with 17 points and 20 rebounds. The Celtics will travel to D.C. for a thursday matchup with the Wizards before returning to the TD Banknorth Garden to host the Hornets on 12/12 and the Jazz on 12/15.  Celtics tickets are available for both games.

Celtics Top Magic, Extend Streak to Nine

Posted by Ace Staff on December 2nd, 2008

Despite 30 points from Orlando forward Rashard Lewis, the Cetlics walked away from last night’s game with an impressive 9-game winning streak. The C’s kept their cool and held off the Magic for a 107-88 victory, despite a total of 8 technicals being called. With another one on his record, Kendrick Perkins is getting perilously close to being suspended a game for each two T’s. Rajon Rondo was  outstanding moving the ball around yet again, racking up 12 assists. The Celtics will face the Indiana Pacers at home on Wednesday night. Discount Celtics tickets are still available!

Portland Extends Winning Streak to Four

Posted by Ace Staff on December 1st, 2008

The Portland Trail Blazers topped the Pistons in Auburn Hills on Sunday in what is becoming a regular sight for Detroit fans. Both the Pistons and the Lions have yet to win a game on a Sunday this season. LaMarcus Aldridge led the rout with 27 points, followed by 19 from Brandon Roy, and 10 points and a career high 13 rebounds by Greg Oden. “This is a good win for us, because we’ve struggled against good teams on the road this year,” Roy said in a post-game interview. “We had good focus, and we were able to close the game.” Allen Iverson continues to struggle in Detroit, describing his tenure with the team so far as “almost (been) like a training camp” Portland Trail Blazers tickets are available now for all games this season.

Ginobli Will Return to Spurs on Monday Night

Posted by Ace Staff on November 29th, 2008

Spurs shooting guard Manu Ginobli was projected to be out until the middle of December, recovering from surgery on his ankle in the offseason. Ginobli recently told Spurs coach Greg Popovich that he would be ready to return to action on Monday night at Memphis. The Spurs have struggled without their Star #6 man, putting up a 7-6 record in his absence. “I’m going to be out of shape, a little slower,” Ginobli told Yahoo Sports. “But those are things you only get from playing. I feel like it works better for me getting 10 minutes of playing time than 20 minutes on a treadmill.” San Antonio Spurs Tickets are available now!

Celtics and Bruins Get Top Billing On Wednesday

Posted by Ace Staff on November 26th, 2008

The Celtics and Bruins are at the top of their leagues, and Boston fans face a tough decision on which game to watch tonight. The Bruins are six points ahead of division rival Montreal, and share the Eastern Conference lead with the New York Rangers (with three games in hand). The Celtics have 5.5 games on the Philadelphia 76ers in the Atlantic division, and a 1.5 game lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins will face off against the Sabres in Buffalo at 7:00pm. The Black and Gold look to continue their reign as the NHL’s best in goals against, facing a team that they have already dominated twice this season. The Celtics tip off against the Golden State Warriors at the Garden at 7:30pm. The C’s have won their last five, and are looking to secure their second 6-game winning steak of the young season. Golden State looks to break a 3-game losing streak, and have bested the reigning champion Celtics 4 of the last 5 times the teams have met. Boston Celtics Tickets and Boston Bruins Tickets are available now for all games this season!

Posted by Ace Staff on November 24th, 2008

The 1-10 Washington Wizards have fired head coach Eddie Jordan. The Wizards’ director of player development Ed Tapscott has been selected to coach the team on an interim basis. The Wizards have struggled so far this year, without star Gilbert Arenas and role-player Brendan Haywood.  Tapscott will make his coaching debut against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night at the Verizon Center in DC. Washington Wizards tickets are available now for all games this season!

Celtics Close Out Weekend With Another Win

Posted by Ace Staff on November 23rd, 2008

Riding the momentum from Friday night’s win in Minnesota, Garnett’s first trip back since his trade to the Celtics, Boston dropped 118 points on the Toronto Raptors today for their 13th win of the year.  In Friday night’s win at the Timberwolves, Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 17 points en route to a 95-78 win. It was Ray Allen dominating the Raptors on Sunday, scoring 21 points for the team high.  Scoring 15 points each were Kevin Garnett, Tony Allen, and Rajon Rondo.  Perkins added 12 points and 8 rebounds and Paul Pierce had 11 points as the Celtics made sure they got their baskets today.  The win was the fifth straight for the Boston Celtics who have been cruising lately.  They’ve overcome some tough opponents and early deficits to maintain their poise. As the defending champions they are no doubt wearing a target on their backs.  The Celtics will get two days to rest before hosting the Golden State Warriors on 11/26.  On Friday the Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers as part of a double header of hockey and basketball at the TD Banknorth Garden.  Celtics tickets are available for both of these games now.

Iverson, Pistons No Match For Rondo & Celtics

Posted by Ace Staff on November 21st, 2008

Allen Iverson’s move to Detroit has helped the Pistons get past the Lakers and the Cavs but not their Eastern Conference rival, Boston Celtics.  The Celtics ruined Iverson’s home debut with Detroit a couple of weeks ago.  It was more of the same last night at the TD Banknorth Garden as the Celtics prevailed over Detroit 98-80.  Iverson managed 16 points and 4 assists but was outplayed by Celtics’ point guard Rajon Rondo.  Rondo scored 18 and had 8 assists as the leading scorer for Boston last night. Both teams scored 21 points in the 1st but Boston would pull away in the 2nd and 3rd quarters outscoring Detroit 56-36 in that stretch.  The Celtics got 15 points out of Kevin Garnett who returned from a one game suspension.  Rasheed Wallace would add 13 points and 6 rebounds for Detroit.  Last night marked the 5th straight game where the Celtics held the Pistons to under 90 points. The Celtics will play their next two games on the road before returning home to the TD Banknorth Garden to host the Golden State Warriors on 11/26.  Celtics tickets are available for all remaining 2008-2009 games.

Celtics Handle Knicks Without KG

Posted by Ace Staff on November 19th, 2008

The Boston Celtics certainly missed Kevin Garnett’s defense last night against the New York Knicks.  Garnett missed the game due to a one game suspension for an altercation in a game this past weekend.  The Celtics gave up a rare 101 points but were able to outlast the Knicks for a 110-101 victory.  Crowd favorite Brian Scalabrine got a start in place of Garnett and wound up hitting a clutch 3 pointer late in the game.  Paul Pierce led the way for Boston last night with 22 points and 8 rebounds as Boston earned its 10th win of the year.  Kendrick Perkins stepped up with 16 points while Rondo and Allen added 15 points each.  The win was the 7th in a row for the Celtics against the Knicks. The Celtics will host Allen Iverson and the Detroit Pistons on 11/20 at the TD Banknorth Garden.  Celtics tickets are still available for this game.
