Celtics’ Jeff Green Has Successful Heart Surgery

Boston Celtics small forward Jeff Green recently underwent successful heart surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm.  Doctors have confirmed that the four-year veteran will miss the entire 2011-12 season, hoping to see him return by the start of next season if all goes well in the recovering process. Derrick Rose, Bulls Agree on 5-year Extension

The Chicago Bulls and Derrick Rose recently agreed on a contract extension worth $94 million to keep the reigning MVP in Chicago for the next five years. Rose led the Bulls to a 62-20 regular season record last year, eventually falling to the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-1. (more)

Celtics Deal Glen Davis, Land Brandon Bass

The Boston Celtics agreed to a sign-and-trade deal this afternoon that will send free agent forward Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis to the Orlando Magic for forward Brandon Bass. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound Bass is coming off his best season as a pro, averaging 11.2 points and 5.6 rebounds over 26.1 minutes per game. (more)
