Jam’n 94.5 will host this year’s annual Monster Jam, a mash up of hip-hop and rap artists brought together by one of the most popular Boston Metro radio stations. Last year’s Monster Jam hosted 10 big acts including Keri Hilson, New Boyz, rapper Maino, Three 6 Mafia, Jeremih, Jay Sean, The-Dream, Mario, Fabolous and was headlined by Pitbull. This year’s lineup is still being unraveled, but so far Drake, B.o.B, J.Cole and New Boyz will be at the ’10 Monster Jam, hosted at the TD Garden on October 25th.
Monster Jam is the biggest collaboration of hip-hop artists to hit the Boston area, and this year’s lineup, with announcements still in progress, should be no different. Drake is one of the biggest sensations to hit the rap world in the last year. His debut album, Thank Me Later, was released this past June to rave reviews from all kinds of critics and a no. 1 spot on the Billboard chart, making him the most talked about artist of the year. The child actor gone pop star put together a mix tape made available on social media sites like MySpace. His tracks caught the attention of Lil Wayne and he signed with his label in 2009. Thank Me Later’s first three singles have already appeared in top 20 spots on the Hot 100 charts so far this summer. While it’s been a whirlwind of a year for Drake, having gone from D-list teen actor to superstar within months, this is just the beginning of Drake’s hip-hop career. Drake will make his first New England appearance in October at Jam’n 94.5’s Monster Jam. (more)
