Will Middlebrooks belted a two-run homer to center and Daniel Nava drove in Ryan Kalish to score the go-ahead run in the eigth inning, lifting the Boston Red Sox past the Miami Marlins 6-5 Thursday night at Fenway Park. Middlebrooks, who contributed three hits and four RBI’s in total, has been stellar for the Red Sox since his arrival on May 2nd when fellow third baseman Kevin Youkilis went down with a back injury. Ortiz Powers Sox to Win 3 Straight

David Ortiz ignited the Red Sox offense with a two-run homer in the first inning, leading his Boston Red Sox to win 7-5 over the Miami Marlins last night at Fenway Park. The Sox lineup brought out the big bats to earn their third consecutive victory that also featured home runs by Kelly Shoppach and Cody Ross.  (more)

Red Sox Take 2 of 3 in Chicago

Franklin Morales stepped in for the injured Josh Beckett and allowed just two runs on three hits with nine strikeouts to lift the Boston Red Sox to win 7-4 over the Chicago Cubs yesterday at Wrigley Field. Outfielder Ryan Kalish also delivered for Boston, driving in the go-ahead run with a single to center to spark a three-run seventh inning. The 24-year old was called up from Triple-A Pawtucket before the game after Ryan Sweeney went on the disabled list. (more)

Dustin Pedroia, Adrian Gonzalez and David Ortiz all reached base with singles to spark a six-run eighth inning, leading the Boston Red Sox to win big over the Miami Marlins 10-2 last night at Marlins Park. Felix Doubront let up just two runs on three hits and struck out nine. (more)

Clay Buchholz racked up nine strikeouts while letting up just five hits and one run to lift his Boston Red Sox past the Miami Marlins 2-1 Tuesday night at Marlins Park. The 30-32 Red Sox snapped their recent-four game losing streak, still trailing the AL East leading New York Yankees by 6 1/2 games. (more)

Red Sox veteran slugger David Ortiz is leading the first round of All-Star balloting at his poisition, gaining 1,204,904 votes as DH. The 15-year player is putting up career numbers this seson, averaging .315 with 13 homers and 37 RBI’s. Texas Rangers DH Michael Young is behind Ortiz with 1,049,170 votes. (more)

David Ortiz contributed three hits and two RBI’s to lift his Boston Red Sox past the Detroit Tigers 6-3 yesterday at Fenway Park. Daniel Bard allowed just two runs in five innings to notch the W over Tigers ace Justin Verlander, who let up a scattered 10 hits and five runs in six innings of work. (more)

David Ortiz ignited the Red Sox offense with a home run to deep right,  sparking a three-run sixth inning to lead Boston past the Baltimore Orioles 8-6 yesterday at Camden Yards. Dustin Pedroia contributed two RBIs and Mike Aviles scored the go-ahead run in the seventh, lifting the Red Sox to their ninth victory in 11 games. (more)

Beckett K’s 9 in Sox Win Over Mariners

Josh Beckett struck out nine and scattered four hits over seven innings of work to lead the Boston Red Sox past the Seattle Mariners 5-0 last night at Fenway Park. The victory helped the 11-year veteran somewhat redeem himself to the Fenway Faithful after a frustrating start to the regular season. (more)
