If you think the Boston Celtics’ six-game losing streak is bad, try playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. Last Saturday at Bradley Center, however, Milwaukee defeated the Celtics 95-82. (more)
Rajon Rondo came up one board shy of a triple double as the Boston Celtics went on to win their eighth straight over the Milwaukee Bucks 98-89 last night at TD Garden. All 11 of Rondo’s total points were produced down the stretch during the C’s 27-18 fourth quarter run. Kevin Garnett led the charge in scoring for Boston with 25 points. Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins netted 15 apiece with Ray Allen and Rasheed Wallace each throwing in a side of 13.
“With everybody else on the team, you kind of lose focus on Rondo a little bit,” said Bucks rookie star PG Brandon Jennings. “You’re so worried about Pierce scoring, Garnett scoring and Allen scoring. But he did a good job for them, attacking the basket, making plays. And he made some big free throws.” The Bucks will try to earn their first victory in five games tonight against the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics are scheduled to take on the Wizards tomorrow in Washington.

The Bucks are fighting desperately for the last spot in the playoffs with a 31-39 record. Their next game will be against the Portland Trailblazers at home before they hit the road for four games.
The win for Orlando marked their second consecutive season with 50+ wins. “Other people can downplay winning a division title or winning 50 games,” said head coach Stan Van Gundy. “I’m appreciative of our guys’ effort and what it takes to get to 50 wins. To do it two years in a row is a measure of your organization getting better and getting some consistency. Look for the Magic to host the New York Knicks for their next game on Saturday, March 21st.

Portland “rookie” Greg Oden is finally starting to have the kind of games the Trailblazers drafted him for. Oden’s 24 point, 15 rebound, 2 steal, and 2 block outing helped the Blazers shred the Milwaukee Bucks. It was Oden’s 12th double-double on the season, team best for the season. Portland’s 102-85 win puts them at 25-16 on the season, putting them just 1.5 games behind Denver in the Northwest division. Despite the Darius Miles salary cap drama, the Trail Blazers have been playing solid .500 ball since the holiday break, and will face off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
