The Heat have now won 16 of their last 17 contests, becoming the first team in NBA history to win 10 straight road games in a calendar month. Chris Bosh contributed 21 points as LeBron James controlled the tempo with 20 points and nine rebounds.
“We’re just a different team now,” said James. “We go out and understand that no matter what the course of the game may bring, we can always will ourselves to win, get enough stops, and make enough plays to win a basketball game.” Luis Scola and Kevin Martin scored a combined 41 for the Rockets in their losing efforts. Houston is next set to welcome in the Toronto Raptors Friday, December 31st. The Heat are scheduled to host the Golden State Warriors on New Year’s Day.

LeBron James in his first game back since suffering a preseason hamstring injury netted 33 points in yesterday’s game against the Charlotte Bobcats in Miami. Despite LeBron’s superior play through 29 minutes, Charlotte rallied back to outscore the Heat by 15 in the fourth quarter to win 102-96. DJ Augustin led the Bobcats in scoring with 19. Derrick Brown and Tyrus Thomas came off the bench for 18 and 15, respectively. Chris Bosh contributed 14 points and eight rebounds for Miami.
The Heat led through the majority of the contest without Dwayne Wade, who is currently in Chicago fighting for the custody of his two sons. “They’ve done an amazing job,” said Charlotte head coach Larry Brown of the revamped Heat roster. “Not only with Bosh and LeBron, but they’ve surrounded them with some pretty good players. It’s like when I had that group in Philly…they allowed Allen to be Allen. And not only did they acquire two phenomenal players, they got a lot of people around them.”
Miami has two more preseason games scheduled against the Atlanta Hawks and Orlando Magic before traveling to the TD Garden for their opening matchup against the Boston Celtics. 2010-2011 Miami Heat tickets are now available!
The NBA’s new Big 3 took the floor for the first time together in Miami Heat uniform and led the revamped squad to a 105-89 victory over the Detroit Pistons yesterday at the American Airlines Arena. Longtime franchise player Dwayne Wade hit the opening bucket for Miami but strained his right hamstring soon after. The newly acquired LeBron James and Chris Bosh then took over for a collective 38 points and nine rebounds. Udonis Haslem netted 14 points and pulled down 13 boards during his 25 minutes in the game.
“I like the fact that we got better tonight. We didn’t waste an opportunity to get better. That’s what it’s about,” said James after the win. “You can tell it’s an exciting time for this city. Hopefully we can come through and do things that we need to do on the court to keep the fans excited.” The Heat are next scheduled to matchup with Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The New England Patriots are currently gearing up to face their longtime AFC East rival Miami Dolphins away at Sun Life Stadium. The featured Monday night contest will provide its fair share of challenges due to their past success rate in South Beach. Despite Quarterback Tom Brady’s encouraging 40-11 record against all AFC East opponents, he is just 3-5 vs. the Dolphins on the road.
“It’s a tough contest for us every time we go down there and play those guys,” said Brady in a recent interview. “What it means is that there isn’t a lot of margin for error down there. As an offense, we have to understand they have a very good defense and they play well at home. I’m sure this week will be no different.” The Pats are coming off a hard fought 38-30 victory over the Buffalo Bills at home. Hopefully the momentum will carry over with Miami, Baltimore and San Diego next on schedule. Purchase your New England Patriots tickets right here at AceTicket.com!
Due to the monster off-season within the Miami Heat organization, it’s clear that calendars are marked and a new target is set between the other 31 NBA teams looking to make a statement in 2011. Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh have heard enough criticism this summer to keep them motivated through multiple seasons. NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy has high expectations for Miami, saying they’ll break “the single-season win record (72)” and “have a legit shot at the Los Angeles Lakers 33-game winning streak (in 1971-72) as well.” He continued to state that only LA has “even a remote shot at beating them in a playoff series. They will never lose two games in a row this year.”
The latest mega-trio is ready to “showcase their talents” to a national audience all season long with 29 games scheduled for TNT, ESPN, ABC or NBA TV. The Orlando Magic will play host to the Heat at the new Amway Arena Wednesday, November 24th. Other notable away games include December 17th against the New York Knicks and January 15th against the Chicago Bulls.
Miami’s most challenging games at the American Airlines Arena come late in the season against the top two teams in the Western Conference.
