Longtime R&B-pop singer-songwriter Mariah Carey is still going strong with plans to kick off the New Year with a string of performances across the U.S. starting January 2nd at the Borgata Event Center in Atlantic City, NJ. She is also scheduled to headline at the Madison Square Garden in New York City December 31st.
The “Angels Advocate Tour” is designed to further promote her 12th studio album “Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel.” After its release in September of 2009, the lead single “Obsessed” went on to reach the #7 spot on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Charts. Mariah is expected to stop at the Wang Theatre in Boston, MA on January 30th before hitting up the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia, PA the following night.
The 39-year old Carey over the course of her career has sold over 175 million albums, singles and videos worldwide. In 2000 she was named the best-selling female pop artist of the millennium. Billboard magazine ranked the veteran sensation at #6 on their all-time best artists list.
Mariah first hit mainstream success with the release of her 1990 self-titled album with Columbia Records.
