Happy-go-lucky singer of the 2009 summer smash “I’m Yours” Jason Mraz has unveiled his latest tour plans for the United States and Canada. The 20-date itinerary will cross from coast to coast and include festival appearances and other special events. The fall tour launches September 11 along the Waterfront in Bangor, ME, and continues for at least a month, with a final date currently set for October 8 at the Bowl in Santa Barbara, CA. Mraz was on the road for practically all of 2009 and took a break to clear up his mind and begin writing songs for a follow-up to 2008’s We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.
Jason Mraz suggested in November 2009 that he would be returning to the recording studio following his South American tour. While he has not yet announced a released date for this expected material, he will be revealing some new tracks while on tour this fall. Come late August, Mraz will begin the 20-date tour including two guest performances for the Dave Matthews Band 2010 tour wrap-up at Wrigley Field. He will be coming to New England for the Life is Good festival in Canton, MA with Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Ben Harper on September 12th.
Jason Mraz found success almost immediately, with the first single from his folk-pop debut “The Remedy (I Won’t Worry)” ranking in at number 15 on the Billboard charts in 2002. Since then things have only been looking up, first opening for artists Alanis Morisette and the Rolling Stones and then earning widespread popularity and 2 Grammy awards with the release of his third studio album in 2008. The album debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 200 and spawned the hit “I’m Yours”, the ukulele-led summer romance anthem and “Lucky”, a dreamy duet with Colbie Caillat.
Jason Mraz is heading off on a world tour in support of new album “We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things”. The pop singer-songwriter will be stopping in Japan, Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland, England, and Ireland. Before that, Mraz will be playing a one-off show at the Ryan Center in Rhode Island on February 12th. Mraz will return to the US in May to play two dates at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas on the 8th and the 9th.
