Jacoby Ellsbury signs with New York Yankees

Former Boston Red Sox center-fielder, Jacoby Ellsbury was limited to eighteen games in 2010 after he cracked his ribs. In 2012, he suffered a shoulder injury and was placed on the disabled injury reserve list. More recently, he was plagued with a foot injury that forced him to sit out a few games. (more)

Ellsbury, Drew, and Napoli decline $14.1 million dollar contract

On Monday, MLB players Jacoby Ellsbury, Stephen Drew, and Mike Napoli declined a $14.1 million dollar offer that would accompany another one-year contract with the Boston Red Sox. These offers were also extended to thirteen other agents and were declined by them as well. (more)

Last night, the Baltimore Orioles’ 5-3 victory prevented the Boston Rex Sox from clinching a postseason berth. With that being said, we need some positive vibes here in Boston and Jacoby Ellsbury is right on time. Ellsbury has been available to the media the first time since September 5 after he sustained his fractured foot. (more)

Sox outslug Astros after rough start

After being shutout in the first game of the series, the Sox bats came alive on Tuesday night against the Houston Astros. It was an offensive outpouring for both teams, but the Sox ended up outslugging the Astros en route to a 15-10 victory. (more)

Sox take two of three from D-Backs in weekend series

The Red Sox wrapped up their weekend series with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon. After splitting the first two games, the Sox shutout the Diamondbacks en route to a 4-0 victory.  (more)

Rays Fall To Red Sox

Tampa Bay, coming off a 1-5 road trip to Baltimore and New York, fell short to the Red Sox this past Monday night. Jacoby Ellsbury homered and drove in three runs and Aaron Cook stopped his five-game losing streak. The Rays dropped 5 1/2 games behind the Yankees and 5 games behind the Orioles. In the last seven games, the Rays have scored just 21 runs. (more)
