The House of Blues in Boston is set to host the Dropkick Murphys for six shows from March 13th to March 17th, 2010. The Dropkicks were the first to perform at the new state of the art concert venue last year in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. Current members include Tim Brennan, James Lynch, Al Barr, Ken Casey, Matt Kelly, Scruffy Wallace and Jeff DaRosa. The Quincy natives first started playing together in 1996. From their six studio albums they’ve released popular singles “Tessie,” “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” and “The State of Massachusetts.” The band is widely heard in all Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots home games. “I’m Shipping Up to Boston” is also the official song of Australian Rules Football (featured on the ad in Australia promoting the sport). The Dropkicks are rumored to release another album sometime in 2010. Check back here with us at Ace for any additional Dropkick Murphys information!
