With July coming to a close and the most bittersweet, scorching month of the year right around the corner, the only thing hotter than the temperature is the concert lineup. Kindling the blaze is Arcade Fire, touring as part of their first American tour in three years. This tour is complemented by their upcoming studio album release The Suburbs debuting August 3rd. The band, fronted by husband and wife duo Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, is highly recognized for their multi-instrumentalist band members and their uplifting, larger-than-life musical arrangements. The tour in its entirety consists of just seven US dates scheduled after their five Canadian dates. Following two headlining shows at Madison Square Garden, Arcade Fire will be playing the Bank of America Pavilion on August 1st.
Boston’s Mix 104.1 will also be hosting their annual Mixfest at the Pavilion, this year will a killer lineup. Headlined by the Goo Goo Dolls, best known for their late ‘90s hits “Iris” and “Slide” and currently working on an upcoming album for the end of August, the festival will also include Switchfoot (with the hit “Dare You to Move”), last year’s American Idol winner Kris Allen, Steven Page (founding member and ex-front man of Barenaked Ladies) and the alternative band Spill Canvas. The Mixfest has been a collection of exciting artists that come together to put on a show packed with favorite Mix 104.1 hits. With five acts playing this year, it’s bound to make for the perfect summer day on August 2nd. (more)
