U2 1st to Play O2 Arena, Dublin

Posted by Ace Staff on December 14th, 2008

The Edge and Bono revisited a familiar site when they dropped in on the new O2 Arena in Dublin over the weekend.  The new arena was built on the site of the old Dublin venue, The Point.  The Point was a simple venue that was converted from a railway depot.  U2 fans will remember the venue from the Rattle and Hum movie.  The band performed Desire and Van Diemen’s Land at The Point for the Rattle and Hum movie.  They were the first band to play the venue. In keeping up with tradition Bono and the Edge were technically the first to play the new O2 Arena Dublin reprising their past performances during Rattle and Hum.  The performance certainly got many fans anxious about the new U2 album and 2009 U2 tour.  No details for a tour have been released but speculation about U2 planning their tour is underway.

Blur to Reunite for UK Gig, Possibly Tour

Posted by Ace Staff on December 10th, 2008

Frontman Damon Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon have put aside their differences and reunite Britpop band Blur for a gig in London’s Hyde Park. The show will feature the band’s fulle lineup (including bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree) and will be followed by other festival appearances. “It just felt it was right again,” Albarn told NME in an exclusive interview “It somehow feels like there’s something for us to do again, we’re not completely useless or pointless, we’ve got a reason to exist.” A possible Glastonbury appearance has been mentioned, and a full world tour has been hinted at – but there are no formal plans announced beyond the July3rd headlining show at Hyde Park in London. Kenny Chesney To Rock Gillette Summer 2009

Posted by Ace Staff on December 3rd, 2008

Kenny Chesney‘s annual stop at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA is a popular one. All 60,000 seats to each of these shows sells out almost immediately. It is no surprise that Gillette is one of his favorite places to play.  Chesney recently told CJWF Country 1031AM: “There is just something about those people. Every time we play Gillette Stadium, they come — and they sing their hearts out. It may be one of the NFL’s biggest stadiums, but I’m telling you…every year, those people make it feel like a little club date.” Tickets are available now for Kenny Chesney at Gillette Stadium on August 15th, 2009!
