Led Zeppelin Manager Says Reunion Happening

Posted by Ace Staff on January 7th, 2009

Led Zeppelin’s manager Peter Mensch recently told the BBC that a Led Zeppelin reunion is imminent, pending the band finding an appropriate vocalist to take over for Robert Plant. When the band reunited to play at a benefit for long-time friend Ahmet Ertegun of Atlantic Records, the rest of the band meshed. “They had a really good time rehearsing, the three of them, before Robert showed up” Mensch said. ““And they decided that if they could find a singer that they thought would fit their bill – whatever their bill was at this stage in their career – that they’d make a record and go on tour.” Plant’s replacement has not been announced, but Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy has been mentioned in passing. My Bloody Valentine Album, Tour?

Posted by Ace Staff on December 23rd, 2008

My Bloody Valentine hasn’t released an album in 17 years. Up until earlier this year, they had not gone on a proper tour in 15 years. Their die-hard fans’ patience was rewarded by a string of European festival appearances, as well as a string of dates across North America. The legendary shoegaze band brought their ear-splitting show back on the road – and didn’t seem to have missed a beat since the early 90′s. What has fans really excited is the prospect of a new My Bloody Valentine album finally being finished. MBV mastermind Kevin Shields finally seems to have found his motivation to finish the follow up to 1991′s Loveless. “I realized that all that stuff I was doing in 1996 and 1997 was a lot better than I thought” Shields told the New York Time’s Jon Pareles. According to Shields, the band plans to finish the partially-completed album, as well as record new material as well. Rumors of an extensive world tour in support of those albums have been heard as well. In the short term, a reissue of MBV classic Loveless is scheduled to be released in January of 2009. U2 Album Set For March 2, 2009 Release

Posted by Ace Staff on December 18th, 2008

After months of speculation about a release date and album title, U2 has finally announced the release of its 12th studio album entitled ‘No Line On the Horizon’.  The new U2 album will drop on March 2, 2009.  The album features the services of some familiar faces for U2 including Brino Eno and Daniel Lanois. With the album release date no longer a mystery the next question on fans’ minds is, ‘when can we expect a U2 tour’?  While 2009 U2 tour rumors have been floating around no official plans have been revealed and no U2 tickets have gone on sale yet.  There is no doubt that a U2 tour will follow the new album.  Expect U2 to play some familiar stops including the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, and Madison Square Garden in New York.  U2 is also expected to play the new O2 Arena in Dublin.
