When Radiohead released “name your own price” album In Rainbows, they vowed not to make any conventional music videos to accompany it. Keeping with that promise is the new clip for “House of Cards”. Directed by James Frost, “Cards” was filmed using a process called Velodyne Lidar. Images are captured by 64 spinning lasers, resulting in something like 3D sonar.
The band has also announced plans to release the raw data used to make the video so that fans can remix and remake it how they see fit.
Radiohead will be playing at the Comcast Center on August 13th.

Tickets for the next round of Jack Johnson Tour dates are available now! After spending July in Europe, Johnson will return to the US on August 8th to play the Comcast Center (formerly Tweeter Center) in Mansfield, MA.
This “green” tour is encouraging concertgoers to carpool to the show, bring their own bottles of water to refill, and has offered free VIP parking to people who come in hybrid cars. Johnson’s backstage wish list is a far cry from some bands who ask for M&M’s without the green ones, or vodka with a scorpion in it. Johnson’s rider asks for water efficient showers, biodegradable trash bags, recycling containers, and a request that leftover food is donated to local food banks. Additionally, he requests for an “eco-crew” for the parking lot to check air pressure in tires and give fuel efficiency tips.

Many gossip sites are reporting rumors this week that John Mayer will retire soon. Mayer is apparently content with his current body of work and doesn’t see a need to make anymore music at this time. While a short retirement could be possible, many doubt that we’ve seen the last of John Mayer, especially given his age. Today’s music and concert industry is full of acts who were once considered retired but eventually returned to the scene. Recent reunion tours from the Police, and Van Halen are among the more successful of these tours.
If this is indeed the end for Mayer, make sure you check out the remaining dates of his current tour. At the very least it will be the last time you can catch John Mayer for the time being. We hope he enjoys his time off, much of which will likely be spent with his new gal pal, Jennifer Aniston.

The Bank of America Pavilion has a full schedule of concert venues this summer and tickets are now available through Ace Ticket for all of these shows. Check out the list of artists and bands coming through Boston and be sure to contact Ace with any of your concert ticketing needs!
