Red Sox vs. Rays in American League Division tomorrow

While the Boston Red Sox have been resting after their 97 wins, the Tampa Bay Rays have embarked on something close to a North American Tour. The Rays went from New York to Toronto to Texas to finally, Cleveland where they garnered a 4-0 win against the Cleveland Indians. Saving sleep for after the American League Division, the Rays will face the Sox for the best-of-five division series beginning this Friday at Fenway Park. (more)

In 2011, the chance of the Boston Red Sox entering the playoffs seemed likely. In 2012, the chance of the Red Sox just winning a game seemed unlikely. Now it’s 2013 and the Sox have earned 91 wins and clinched a playoff berth. (more)

Last night, the Baltimore Orioles’ 5-3 victory prevented the Boston Rex Sox from clinching a postseason berth. With that being said, we need some positive vibes here in Boston and Jacoby Ellsbury is right on time. Ellsbury has been available to the media the first time since September 5 after he sustained his fractured foot. (more)

Before August 24, any victory against the Boston Red Sox seemed entirely possible. Since then, however, the Sox have earned winnings against the New York Yankees, Tampa Rays, and Toronto Blue Jays. Starting tonight, September 17, the Sox will enter a three-game series facing the Baltimore Orioles. And while the Sox are down 7-6 in the season series with Baltimore, an Orioles’ success seems unlikely. (more)
