Legendary singer-songwriter Paul Simon has added concert dates to his already extensive North American spring tour. The string of shows will begin at the WaMu Theater in Seattle, WA Friday, April 15th and close at the House of Blues in Boston, MA Thursday, June 2nd. (more)

Sublime with Rome is scheduled to arrive at the House of Blues in Boston Monday, May 3rd as part of their 2010 string of concert dates across the U.S. Members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson are ready to reunite on stage for the first time in 14 years, welcoming lead singer “Rome” to join them in paying tribute to original frontman Bradley Nowell. They are currently working on some new material, but will be sure to showcase their most recognized hits on tour.
The group will make their debut at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles for two nights starting Tuesday, April 20th before the Filmore Auditorium in Denver welcomes them in on Monday, April 26th. Their two week run will end on Wednesday, May 5th at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia. Sublime is most well known through classic tracks “What I Got,” “Santeria” and “Wrong Way.” Their self-titled album went on to sell 17 million copies since its release in July of 1996. Due to overwhelming demand, the J. Geils band will be performing another gig at Boston’s House of Blues. They will return on April 28th, fresh off of a show at the Fillmore in Detroit. Their first reunion gig sold out in a flash, and demand was high, so act fast if you want to lock up tickets to one of Boston’s favorite bands!

A source close to the Boston Globe has disclosed that the J. Geils band will christen the Boston House of Blues with a performance on February 19th. The Boston band has played a scant number of shows in the past decade, and this could be one of few gigs with the original lineup in nearly 15 years. The Geils band show will be followed up by the Gipsy Kings on February 20th, and BB King & Buddy Guy on February 22nd.

The hype surrounding Animal Collective‘s new album, “Merriweather Post Pavilion” had been building for months. The album, released today, is already pegged as a virtual lock for Album of the Year by most indie publications. Animal Collective is going to be heading out on the road in support of the new album starting in May, and leading up to a gig at All Tomorrow’s Parties in New York in September. Last time the Maryland natives played Boston, the Paradise show (650 capacity) sold out so fast it was moved to the Avalon (1850 capacity), so expect tickets to go fast!
