Red Sox Avoid Sweep, Down Orioles 6-3

Clay Buchholz allowed in three runs on a scattered eight hits and racked up seven strikeouts to lift his Boston Red Sox past the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 yesterday at Camden Yards. One of the only bright spots on the pitching staff this year, Buchholz earned his 11th win of the season while helping the Red Sox avoid what would have been a disastrous three-game sweep in Baltimore. Red Sox Trade Kelly Shoppach to Mets

The New York Mets recently acquired veteran catcher Kelly Shoppach from the Boston Red Sox for a player to be named. The Red Sox placed Shoppach on waivers and the Mets put a claim on him, intending to utilize the eight-year veteran against left-handed pitchers. (more)

Before 2011 I had never heard of Gotye. And then he released the single “Somebody That I Used To Know” and it seemed that everyone had all of a sudden ‘discovered’ this new artist. But, there is much more to the Gotye story than a very catchy single and one helluva a music video. (more)

The Celtics new acquisition has no doubt that Boston will once again be in contention for a title, backing up his statements with a tattoo on his left forearm depicting the Celtics leprechaun balancing the Larry O’Brien trophy. Since 2010 Boston based clothing company has been putting on an annual festival that brings great bands to Prowse Farm in Canton, MA for two days. The great thing about this festival is that 100% of the profits and funds that are raised are donated to the companies charity, Playmakers, an organization dedicated to helping kids (more)
