This Week in Boston (May 7 – 13)

The Boston Celtics will look to close out their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks following last night’s 101-76 win at TD Garden. The Hawks had the early advantage in this round due to a Game 1 victory and Rajon Rondo’s Game 2 suspension. The C’s have since played inspired basketball, now holding a 3-1 series lead with Game 5 set for Tuesday night at Philips Arena. The series would then shift back to Boston for Game 6 to be played this Thursday if necessary. (more)

Pierce Dominates Game 2, Celtics Gain Home Court Advantage

Paul Pierce was on the court for 44 minutes and racked up 36 points and 14 rebounds during Boston’s 87-80 Game 2 victory over the Atlanta Hawks last night at Philips Arena. The Celtics captain lifted his team when they needed him most with Rajon Rondo suspended and Ray Allen sidelined with an ankle injury. (more)

The Celtics did not get off to a good start in the playoffs. In Sunday’s game, the C’s lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 83-74. (more)

This Week in Boston (April 30 – May 6)

The Celtics will play two at home this week at the TD Garden. They kicked off the playoffs last night against the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta, but got the 83-74 loss. They will play one more in Atlanta on Tuesday May 1 before heading home for games Friday May 4 and Sunday May 6. (more)

Celtics Win Over Magic, Clinch Atlantic Division

Paul Pierce ignited his Celtics with 29 points, 14 assists and five rebounds during Boston’s 102-98 victory over the Orlando Magic yesterday at TD Garden. The Celtics captain was the best player on the floor from start to finish just one night after dropping 43 points on the New York Knicks. (more)

The Bruins will come home to the TD Garden on Saturday April 21 after heading to Washington for games 3-4. The series is tied 1-1, both games going into overtime. (more)

Celtics Handle Heat, Return Home to Play Hawks

Paul Pierce netted 27 points and Kevin Garnett added 24 points and nine rebounds to lead their Boston Celtics past the Miami Heat 115-107 last night at American Airlines Arena. Rajon Rondo posted double-digit assists for the 18th straight game and the Celtics are looking better than ever with just nine games left on the regular season schedule. (more)

This Week in Boston (April 9 – 15)

The Bruins will kick off the playoffs at home at the TD Garden on Thursday April 12. They’re going up against the Washington Capitals who beat the Bruins in the regular season series 3-1. They’ll play a second game at home on Saturday April 14 before moving the series to Washington. The Bruins had a strong finish, winning four out of the last five games of the regular season. Hopefully they will be able to carry the momentum over to the playoffs and start things off right at home. (more)
