Stone Temple Pilots Summer Concert Dates

Posted by Ace Staff on June 4th, 2010

Just a week after the release of their self-titled sixth studio album, Stone Temple Pilots have announced that they plan to keep busy this summer by staying on the road. The album was the band’s first release in nine years, and debuted at number 2 in album sales on the Billboard Top 100 behind “Glee: The Music, Volume 3”. The album was produced by band members Robert and Dean DeLeo, freeing the band of any scheduling constraints. At a private listening party prior to the release of Stone Temple Pilots, the album was received well and acquired comparisons to legendary bands like Led Zeppelin and the Beatles. This concert series is just the latest leg of touring for the Stone Temple Pilots, who split up in 2003 and cemented their 2008 reunion with several tours that have kept them on the road for the past two years, with small intermissions for recording their latest albums. Stone Temple Pilots performed at this year’s South by Southwest in March and are also expected to play the UK’s Download Festival, the Hurricane Festival and Southside Festival in Germany this summer. STP will play the Bank of America Pavilion in Boston September 1st following a performance at Mohegan Sun in CT. Tickets are projected to go on sale June 12th, with a pre-sale beginning June 8th for STP fan club members. Stone Temple Pilots’ fame peaked in the 1990’s, releasing their first four albums between 1992 and 1999. Their debut album, Core, reached number three in the Billboard Charts and produced five hit songs, including “Plush”. While their releases were never well received by the critics, STP gained a steady fan base. Frontman Scott Weiland was responsible for wrecking havoc for the band when a drug addiction and unsuccessful spell of rehabilitation resulting in two cancelled tours within a two year stretch. In 2003, the band members separated, all joining different bands and coming back together from their projects in 2008. Purchase your Stone Temple Pilot tickets right here with us at Ace!

Bank of America Pavilion to Host Arcade Fire

Posted by Ace Staff on June 4th, 2010

Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire, fronted by husband and wife duo Win Butler and Regine Chassagne, just recently scheduled their first headlining American concerts in three years with seven US dates scheduled to follow five Canadian dates. The tour is projected to kick off at Boston’s Bank of America Pavilion August 1st and will wrap up in Atlanta on August 11th. The string of shows will also include a trip to New York City’s Madison Square Garden. Arcade Fire announced the title and release date of their highly anticipated upcoming album, named The Suburbs and due out August 3rd. They are soon expected early to release two singles for the album called “The Suburbs” and “Month of May”. The band is highly recognized for their multi-instrumentalist band members and their uplifting, larger-than-life musical arrangements. The first full length album Funeral was released in 2004, an album with somber overtones of life and death, was received very well by music critics and snagged best album and best single titles for “Rebellion (Lies)”. The track “Wake Up” was the band’s opening song while playing with U2 and was also featured in commercials for Where the Wild Things Are. Arcade Fire’s follow up album, Neon Bible’s (2007) sound was just as impactful as the debut, with tracks like “Intervention”, evoking spirituality and inspiration through a booming cathedral-like organ. The band toured in promotion of Neon Bible for a year, playing 122 shows in 75 cities around the world. The Suburbs has high expectations to live up to but there’s no doubt that after 15 months of recording, Arcade Fire’s got something special up their sleeve. Tickets are available now!
