Despite Ray Allen’s huge 3 to tie the game at the end of regulation, the Bulls forced a second overtime and eventually took the win. Ben Gordon had his own big three, taking a feed from John Salmons to force the second OT. The Bulls had the upper hand in the second extra period, besting the C’s 121-118. “It’s 2-2 and we’re in a fight,” Rajon Rondo told the AP’s Andrew Seligman. “Give them a lot of credit. They stuck with it. They fought back. They executed down the stretch very well and we didn’t.”
A close game throughout, the Celtics’ third period surge gave them a slim going into the last quarter. Sloppy play, fouls, and turnovers gave the Bulls a 3-point lead with just 16 seconds to go, but Allen made his shot count, sending it into overtime. The teams played close, with the C’s holding a slim with less than ten seconds to go before Gordon’s three.
The series continues on April 28th in Boston at the TD Banknorth Garden. Boston Celtics Playoff Tickets are available now!
