Sports - Yesterday’s spring training game against long time rivals, the New York Yankees, proved to be unsuccessful for the 2013 World Champions. The Red Sox were unable to do work against the Yankees’ pitcher, Michael Pineda. And on the flip-side, Felix Doubront was having a difficult time stopping the Yankee hitters.  (more)

Celtics vs Heat Tonight!

Sports - Although their records are almost complete opposites, the Boston Celtics make it a game whenever they face the Miami Heat. The two teams have split victories this season both in Miami. On November 9, Jeff Green hit a memorable buzzer beater three to top the Heat 111-110, and on January 21 Lebron James scored 29 in the victory at home (93-86). Tonight in Boston it’ll be a matter of who brings their A game and who wants it more.  (more)

Bruins Win 10th Straight

Sports - The Boston Bruins have been on a roll this month, winning ten consecutive games since March 2. They rolled past the New Jersey Devils last night in New Jersey 4-2 in their rally for the President’s Trophy. The Bruins are just two behind the St. Louis Blues for the prestigious award for the most points in the NHL. The B’s currently have 99, but they have plenty of games and opportunities to put themselves ahead.  (more)

Notre Dame Upsets BC in Hockey East

Sports - Yesterday afternoon at the Conte Forum, the eighth seed team, Notre Dame, topped the number one seed team, BC, in the quarterfinals of the Hockey East tournament game. BC, number two in the country, will have to wait until the NCAA hockey bracket comes out on March 23 to see where and when they will be playing. This is the first time since 1988 that both BC and/or BU will not be playing at the Garden for the championship game.  (more)

Bruins Blow Away the Hurricanes

Sports - The Boston Bruins have proved time and time again that they are a force to be reckoned with. Their efforts in Saturday night’s game allowed them to beat the Caroline Hurricanes 5-1. Jarome Iginla has also proven to be a key weapon for the Bruins’ success in his first season with them this year.  (more)

Red Sox Lost to the Rays, 8-4

Sports - The Boston Red Sox had a faulty start against the Tampa Bay Rays in yesterday’s game down in Florida. The Rays were able to score early in the game, while the Red Sox did not get on the board until the 7th inning, and at that point they were trailing 8-0.  (more)

Pelicans Win in Overtime Against the Celtics

Sports - Last night in New Orleans, the Boston Celtics were unable to bring home a win. Sunday night’s game was relatively close the entire game, which eventually led to an overtime loss for the C’s. The one point deficit (121-120) resulted in many positives and negatives for both teams. Let’s take a look at the breakdown of last night’s match up. (more)

Boston Red Sox are Beaten Again

Sports - Spring training has not gone off to a great start for the Boston Red Sox. In yesterday’s game against the Rays, the Boston Red Sox let up 8 runs while they were unable to score at all. The Boston Red Sox are 1-4 in the Grapefruit League and have been outscored 35-18 in their first five games.  (more)
