Britney Spears Planning 2009 Tour

Posted by Ace Staff on October 15th, 2008

Britney Spears has been in ‘comeback’ mode for quite some time now. It appears a huge part of that comeback is now in the works as Britney Spears is planning a Spring 2009 tour. No details on Britney Spears tickets or dates have been revealed yet. Spears’ much publicized personal problems have kept the star from touring in recent years. Her last tour was in 2004 and it netted over $34 million in ticket sales on the primary market. Britney Spears will be touring behind her new yet to be released album, “Circus”. The appropriately titled album will hit stores on December 2, 2008. The first single from that album, ‘Womanizer’ is already getting heavy play on pop radio. Celtics Season Opener Around The Corner

Posted by Ace Staff on October 15th, 2008

Almost five months removed from celebrating their 17th NBA title, the Boston Celtics are just 2 weeks away from openening their season to defend that title. The Champion Celtics will open the season at home against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers on 10/28/08 at the TD Banknorth Garden. The Celtics are still favored by many to win the Eastern Conference and return to the NBA Finals to fight for their 18th Championship. The Celtics 2008-2009 roster will be very similar to last year’s squad with the exception of James Posey who signed with the Hornets in the off season. Expect bigger roles for bench players like Leon Powe and Glen (Big Baby) Davis, two key players in last year’s successful run. In a preview of their opening night matchup the Celtics and Cavs faced off in a pre-season game on Tuesday 10/14, with Boston edging out the Cavs behind 17 2nd half points from Leon Powe. If you just can’t wait to get a look at the 2008-2009 Boston Celtics make sure you take advantage of the great deals on the two pre-season home games at the TD Banknorth Garden. The Celtics will host the Knicks on Friday 10/17 and the Nets on Sunday 10/19. Celtics tickets for these pre-season games start well below face value. Cubs Eliminated in 3 By Dodgers

Posted by Ace Staff on October 5th, 2008

The Chicago Cubs were never in it. They didn’t choke, didn’t have bad luck, they just never showed up. Saturday’s 3-1 victory by the Dodgers complete the three game sweep of yet another Cubs team with high expectations. Their Championship drought now stands at 100 years as Lou Piniella’s playoff record with the Cubs drops to 0-6. “This is six games I’ve managed now in the postseason and we have scored just 12 runs. That doesn’t get it done”, said Piniella according to For the other side, the Dodgers have a much different story. Counted out for much of the year their 2nd half resurgence, thanks in large part to Manny Ramirez, has put them in position to shock everyone in their path. Manager Joe Torre seems to have this Dodgers team focused and motivated. Torre is no stranger to postseason play with now 79 playoff wins under his belt. The first 76 of course came with the Yankees. His last three however remind you more of his first postseason go around with the Yankees in 1996. That team not yet a super star ladened lineup were more the underdog than favorite. Either way if Torre and the Dodgers have their way, Torre will be celebrating his 87th postseason victory come the end of October. MLB Playoff Tickets Dodgers Playoff Tickets

According to the Daily Mirror, U2 will kick off their tour in the U.S. in early 2009 and have several large shows planned for their hometown crowd at Dublin’s Croke Park. It is said that U2 could be performing live for up to 80,000 fans a night with 3-5 shows in the works. Despite the large capacity of Croke Park, the demand for U2 tickets is such that 3-5 shows are expected to easily sell out.Although they are expected to start their tour in the U.S. no details about possible dates or venues have been revealed. Their new album (No Line on the Horizon) will first need a scheduled release date before any firm plans for a U2 tour are made. In the meantime U2 fans can enjoy the upcoming release of the “Live Under a Blood Red Sky” concert DVD. Update 9/21/08: New U2 Shows Scheduled?
