Sochi Olympic Games at a Close

After 17 action packed days of competition, the 2014 Olympic Games are over in Sochi. The home country, Russia, won the medal race with a total of 33 medal and 13 gold, which was a huge improvement since the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. For Team USA, there were only 9 gold medals received with a team total of 28 medals. Norway, Canada, and the Netherlands also made the top five in the medal count standings. Celtics Lose on the Road to the Kings

With both teams losing four out of their last five, the Celtics ultimately lost to the Kings in the contest 105-98 Saturday night. In their quest to win on the west coast, the Celtics have yet to produce a “W”, but the effort is there.  (more)

Four Game Road Trip Starts in Phoenix for the Celtics

Back from the NBA All-Star break, the Boston Celtics will travel to Arizona tonight to face the Phoenix Suns. The Suns currently hold the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference. The Celtics have a four game spread on the West coast and hope to clench some W’s because they are currently 4-18 with Western Conference match ups.  (more)

USA Women’s Hockey Falls to Canada, 3-2

Expected to make it to the gold medal game, Canada and USA had their first duel on the ice in Sochi today. A solid effort by both teams, but team USA could not get past Canada’s goalie Labonte late in the third period.  (more)

And the winner of Boston’s bragging rights hockey tournament goes to… Boston College! The Eagles have won their 5th consecutive Beanpot tournament, and have consistently proven this season that they are fighting to make it to April’s Frozen Four.  (more)

Red Sox Spring Training Schedule

Baseball season is just around the corner, despite the snow that seems to accumulate here in Boston. The Red Sox will escape the cold and continue the tradition down in Fort Myers, Florida to play in 17 games at JetBlue Park. The team that went from worst to first will be seeking to continue their road to a back-to-back  World-Series Championship, which hasn’t been done since 2000 by the New York Yankees.  (more)
