Bruins Travel to Winnipeg

The Boston Bruins have some work to do. After losing to the Wild yesterday in a shootout, the Boston Bruins will take on the Winnipeg Jets tomorrow night on the road. They are still in the hopes to seizing the Presidents’ Trophy for the best NHL record this season. With only a few games left, these wins could help them win the trophy and get things moving into the playoffs.  (more)

Celtics-Hawks Preview

Both teams have different goals for tonight’s game. The Boston Celtics have lost eight straight games and twelve straight road games at the stretch end of their dismal season. The last time they won on the road was against the Bucks on February 10. Whereas the Hawks are trying to bounce back from a disappointing loss last night to Detroit to secure a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.  (more)

Minnesota Wild Beat the Boston Bruins in Shootout

Last night’s game against the Minnesota Wild was not in favor of the Boston Bruins. During the second intermission, the Minnesota Wild found out that they had secured the Playoff wildcard spot for the Western Conference. On top of that, they tied up the game in the third period and even won the shootout. The Boston Bruins may be resting some of their players, but they admit that last night’s game was not their best night.  (more)

Red Sox Versus Rangers Preview

Jake Peavy will take the mound tonight in hopes to defeat the Rangers on their final three-game series tonight at Fenway Park. This will be Peavy’s fifth career start against the Rangers. He is currently 0-2 with a 7.59 ERA. The Red Sox are still playing around with their batting lineups in search for their lead-off go to guy.  (more)

Red Sox Lose to the Rangers, 10-7

Fenway has yet to see an impressive start to this season. The Boston Red Sox are now 3-5 and 1-4 at Fenway Park. Once they get the ball rolling (or out of the park), then we will see a much more familiar team, but it’s still early and they are still trying to figure things out. Despite the loss, the Boston Red Sox were able to make a hopeful comeback late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to win. (more)

Bruins vs Wild Preview

After having a few days off from their win on Saturday, the Boston Bruins will go to Minnesota where they will face the Minnesota Wild. First in the Atlantic Division and now first in the Eastern Conference going into the playoffs, the Bruins must continue their efforts like they did against the Flyers tomorrow night.  (more)

The Boston Red Sox will host the Texas Rangers this week. After the first week of the regular season the Red Sox are 2-4 and the Texas Rangers are 3-3. John Lackey (1-0) will take the mound tonight and face Tanner Scheppers, who will be making his second career start.  (more)

Jeter No. 8 on All-Time Hitting List

New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter after Sunday’s game against the Blue Jays is now eighth on baseball’s all-time hit list. He had two hits in the first four innings, giving him 3,320 career hits. The Yankees won 6-4 against the Toronto Blue Jays.  (more)

Sox are Swept at Fenway

After a three game series in Boston including a ring ceremony, Opening  Day, and two other games this past weekend, the Boston Red Sox lost to the Milwaukee Brewers in all three. With emotions running high at Fenway Park and around the city, the Boston Red Sox admit that they are still adjusting to their schedule and all the other aspects of winning the World Series this past fall. The Boston Red Sox after one week of regular season play are 2-4 and have yet to win at home.  (more)

Celtics lose to the Pistons in Fourth Quarter

Jeff Green and Jared Sullinger were looking unstoppable…until the fourth quarter. The Celtics were up 95-85 in the fourth quarter, but the Pistons out shot the Celtics 30-16 to seal their win 115-111. Boston only had nine players who were healthy enough to play on Saturday night. This was the Celtics’ eighth consecutive loss.  (more)
