Pavement to Embark on 2010 Reunion Tour

Posted by Ace Staff on September 16th, 2009

1990′s alternative rock group Pavement is now in the process of planning a U.S. tour for 2010.  They officially disbanded after a show at Brixton Academy in London on November 20, 1999. The band had decided to cut ties for a while and released a statement saying “Pavement are retiring for the forseeable future to: 1. Start families 2. Sail around the world 3. Get into the computer industry 4. Dance 5. Get some attention.” Heading into 2010 Stephen Malkmus, Bosb Nastanovich, Scott Kannberg, Steve West, and Mark Ibold are all set to come back for a reunion tour.  They are planning to perform on NYC’s Central Park Summerstage for four nights in September.  The tour is rumored to start in Southern California in April. Pavement throughout the 1990′s released five studio albums. They are most well known for their singles “Cut Your Hair,” “Range Life,” “Stereo,” and “Shady Lane.” The most impressive part of the band while in their prime was the mass following they created for themselves despite their lack of commercial success.  In all of their years together the group remained signed to an independent label.
